Alstroemeria, Scabiosa, and Tulips - 16" x 20" oil painting
Alstroemeria, Scabiosa, and Tulips is a meditation on purple, typically one of my least-favorite colors. I came to a fresh appreciation for this elegant hue by studying all of its variations within these blooms. Capturing the subtle shifts between red-violets, blue-violets, and the quiet tones in between, was a deeply satisfying challenge. To highlight their richness, I set the arrangement against lush green foliage and a clear glass vase resting on a soft field of green.
